Our purpose

To show God’s love to the Church and community by offering practical, one-off support to those who are in need or facing hard times.

Among other things practical support can include:

  • cooking meals
  • gardening
  • cleaning
  • painting.

Our story

The Impact team at High Street Church first began as a small Bible study group with a desire to learn more about what it means to follow Jesus.

The more we learnt the more we realised that God has given each of us a purpose (Jeremiah 29:11-13) and that purpose is related to helping and serving people (Matthew 7:12; 23:11). Understanding our purpose led us to start showing God’s love to the people in our community in a practical way (1 John 3:18).

This required us to step out of our comfort zone and follow God’s direction. When we did, the unique passions and gifts that each of us possessed was revealed and a team dedicated to showing God’s love to the church and the local community was formed.
